Stage 3 (Serious Track & Competition Use)These 200SX tuning modifications are mainly aimed at the hardcore drift/track/drag driver who wishes to use their car mainly for competition use. Most people at this stage will opt to totally strip the car out to save weight which will reduce the overall weight of the car which will lead to big improvements in handling. Most interior items can be replaced such as trim, carpets, sound deadening, rear seats, rear shelf, spare wheel, etc.
Some even go for Perspex windows to replace the heavy glass items and removing any un-necessary things within the engine bay such as the air condition pump and ancillaries.
S14 Body Panels Most people who want the biggest savings in weight will decide to replace the S14 body panels for ultra light weight carbon fibre items which will greatly reduce the weight of the S14. Panels such as the bonnet, boot lid, roof, grille, bumpers, and doors can all be replaced with carbon fibre parts if available.
Roll Cage Roll cages are used in nearly all purpose-built race cars, and in most cars modified for racing. There are many different roll cage designs depending on the specifications of the sanctioning body. Roll cages are built to extend the frame in front of the driver, next to the A-pillar, to provide as much high-speed protection as possible in a coupé. This is compared to the protection provided in open wheel racing, where a solid shell encases the majority of the driver's body as well as a rollover hoop that extends over the driver's helmet. A roll cage can also do a great deal to stiffen the chassis, which is desirable in racing applications.
Tyres At this extreme level of 200SX tuning, you will want to go for a soft compound tyre which will provide the highest levels of grip than a normal tyre. Most of these types of tyres are illegal to use on the road and are recommended to be used on track only. Click here for tyres at bargain prices!
Aerodynamics The next step to take is to increase the down force generated by your S14 by fitting diffusers and maybe a bigger rear wing. An aerodynamically proven body kit will aid the handling even further.
