Stage 2 (Mainly Track)

This stage in handling is mainly aimed at the S14 owner who wishes to use his/her car frequently on a track. This stage should only be taken when the stage 1 200SX suspension modifications have been done which excludes the shocks and springs for obvious reasons.

Coilovers

If you want to use your S14 on track and want the best spring rate to go with your damping rate, then you will need to replace your shocks and springs for adjustable 200SX coilovers.

These are a fully adjustable 200SX suspension kit that has the shock and spring all in one unit. The camber angle, damping rate & spring rate can all be adjusted with ease and they come with uprated sturdier pillow ball top mounts giving you the ultimate in car control when setup by a professional.

These can be bought for your S14 with various spring rates and are also more than capable for use with fast road driving.

Lightweight Wheels

Replacing your 200SX wheels for light weight items will help improve the handling of your car and wider wheels will allow you to run wider width tyres at the rear. I would recommend 17" wheels for the best compromise between looks and handling. There's plenty of Japanese performance rims out there such as RAYS, Nismo, etc. A successful & good manufacturer in the UK is Ultralite & Rota Wheels who supply a lot of tasty designs while still keeping the weight low of your S14.

Adjustable Alignment Arms

These will need to be purchased depending on how low you go with your coilovers in order to keep the suspension geometry straight and as they are adjustable, will allow a lot more adjustability than the standard arms. Most S14 replacement arms come with poly bushes already installed which makes for a true bolt on modification.

Bushes

The next step to improve the 200SX handling is by replacing all the tired bushes for new uprated items. These will give the car the refreshed feeling that you often get with brand new cars and will make everything feel tight and will greatly increase stability.

However, the downsides to this are that some types of uprated bushes transfer more road noise into the cabin than the standard 200SX bushes so be careful when choosing.
