Braking
Now that you have plenty of power going through the rear wheels, it's
time to look at a very important part of 200SX tuning, the brakes. As standard
the S14 comes with 280mm brake discs which are more than capable at
stage 1 & 2 with decent pads but will need upgrading if you plan on
using your S14 for track work or going for Stage 3.
Better brakes mean you can brake very late which means your S14 will become quicker.
There are plenty of standard size replacement discs out there for your S14 but I recommend the Brembo's for their fade free performance especially when used with the right pads such as Project Mu Street's or Ferodo DS2500's.
There are direct bolt on S14 brake kits made by well known companies such as AP Racing through to the very hardcore K Sport brakes. Bigger discs mean better braking because the discs have a larger cooling area.
